Day 2: Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca)

🚐 Transportation: modern minivan for transfers, Expedition-class tourist train, and ecological bus (Consettur) to Machu Picchu.

Day 1 Itinerary – Machu Picchu Tour

Day 1: Machu Picchu Tour

1️⃣ 4:00 a.m. – Hotel Pick-up

Start the day early with pick-up from your hotel in Cusco, followed by private transfer to the train station in Ollantaytambo.

2️⃣ 5:00 a.m. – Train Departure from Ollantaytambo

Enjoy a scenic train ride through the Sacred Valley with panoramic views of mountains, rivers, and traditional Andean villages.

3️⃣ 7:30 a.m. – Arrival in Aguas Calientes & Transfer to Machu Picchu

Take the bus along a winding road up to the entrance of Machu Picchu, where the excitement truly begins.

4️⃣ 8:00 a.m. – Guided Tour of Machu Picchu

A 2.5-hour guided visit through the most important areas of the citadel, led by an expert guide.

5️⃣ 10:30 a.m. – Free Time in Machu Picchu

Explore at your own pace, take photos, and enjoy the mystical atmosphere.

6️⃣ 12:00 p.m. – Descent to Aguas Calientes

Return by bus to the town for lunch and free time to explore.

7️⃣ 3:30 p.m. – Train Back to Ollantaytambo

Board the return train and admire the stunning landscapes along the route.

8️⃣ 5:00 p.m. – Transfer to Cusco

Arrival at Ollantaytambo and private transfer back to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 2 Itinerary – Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) Tour

Day 2: Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) Tour

1️⃣ 4:30 a.m. – Hotel Pick-up

Pick-up from your hotel in Cusco’s downtown area to begin the journey into the Andes.

2️⃣ 5:00 a.m. – Drive to Cusipata

Travel by tourist minivan, enjoying the sunrise and scenic Andean landscapes.

3️⃣ 7:00 a.m. – Breakfast Stop in Cusipata

Enjoy a traditional Andean buffet breakfast to recharge your energy.

4️⃣ 8:00 a.m. – Start of the Hike at Phulawasipata

Begin the 3 km hike (approx. 1.5 to 2 hours) towards the summit of Rainbow Mountain, at 5,200 m (17,060 ft).

5️⃣ 10:00 a.m. – Arrival at the Summit of Vinicunca

Take time to admire the views, capture photos, and listen to the guide’s explanations.

6️⃣ 11:00 a.m. – Descent to Phulawasipata

Return along the same trail, once again enjoying the spectacular scenery.

7️⃣ 12:30 p.m. – Buffet Lunch in Cusipata

Delight in a traditional Andean lunch at a local restaurant.

8️⃣ 2:00 p.m. – Return to Cusco

Drive back to Cusco aboard the tourist minivan.

9️⃣ 5:00 p.m. – End of Tour
