With our Pallay Punchu Mountain Tour, you will discover one of the best-kept geological wonders of the southern Andes. This full-day excursion blends extreme nature at 4,770 m (15,649 ft) above sea level with a journey into the past, as we visit the impressive Raqchi Archaeological Complex (Temple of Wiracocha) on our return—one of the most remarkable architectural feats along the Qhapaq Ñan.

- Altitude Contrast: In the morning, you will reach 4,770 m (15,649 ft) above sea level (crisp, freezing, thin air), and in the afternoon, you will descend to Raqchi at 3,480 m (11,417 ft) (temperate valley climate). Acclimatizing in Cusco for at least 2 days beforehand is vital for your body to adjust smoothly without suffering from altitude sickness (soroche).
- The Wind of the Condor: Pallay Punchu is also known as Condorpa Sayanan (“where the condor perches”) due to its strong gusting winds. Bring lemon drops for dry throat and drink coca tea to aid oxygenation.
